Job Purpose:
We are seeking compassionate and committed Support Workers to join our growing team. You will support young people in our accommodation settings, helping them build resilience, develop life skills, and work towards independence while ensuring their safety, wellbeing, and progress are prioritised.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build positive and trusting relationships with young people, based on respect and professional boundaries
- Provide emotional and practical support aligned with each young person’s support plan
- Promote the young person's independence and development of key life skills (budgeting, cooking, cleaning, appointments, etc.)
- Ensure the safety and welfare of young people at all times, maintaining a safe and nurturing environment
- Complete clear, accurate, and timely records in line with Ofsted expectations and company policy
- Participate in key work sessions and contribute to support and pathway planning
- Communicate effectively with external professionals (e.g., social workers, IROs, education providers)
- Work flexibly, including evening and weekend shifts as required
- Follow all Eric Patrick Care Ltd safeguarding, confidentiality, and health & safety policies
- Adhere to the standards outlined in the Supported Accommodation (England) Regulations 2023
- Maintain compliance with Ofsted regulatory requirements, including safeguarding, recording, supervision, and staff conduct
Candidate Requirements:
Essential:
- Experience working with vulnerable young people (ideally aged 16-18) in a supported accommodation, youth work, or social care setting
- Understanding of safeguarding responsibilities, trauma-informed care, and professional boundaries
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to manage challenging behaviour calmly and effectively
- Willingness to work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins if required)
- Commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion
- Must be 21 years or older (per regulation for working with young people in supported accommodation)
- Clear Enhanced DBS check (child and adult workforce) – required prior to appointment
- Right to work in the UK
Desirable:
- Level 3 qualification in Health & Social Care (Children & Young People) or equivalent
- Understanding of the Supported Accommodation (England) Regulations 2023
- Knowledge of Ofsted's Quality Standards for Supported Accommodation
- First Aid certificate
- Safeguarding training (Level 2 or above)

Salary: £12.50 – £14.30 per hour (Equivalent to £22,750 – £26,026 per annum FTE – pro rata based on actual hours worked)
DBS Requirement: Enhanced DBS (Children’s and Adult Workforce)
Regulatory Oversight: Ofsted & Supported Accommodation (England) Regulations 2023
Purpose of the Role:
To provide high-quality support to young people aged 16–18 in supported accommodation, ensuring their safety, promoting independence, and enabling positive transitions into adulthood, in full compliance with Ofsted and legal requirements.
Main Duties:
- Support Provision:
- Deliver individualised support in line with support and risk management plans
- Encourage participation in education, training, and employment
- Assist with daily living skills and emotional wellbeing
- Safeguarding:
- Be vigilant to signs of harm, abuse, or exploitation
- Follow safeguarding procedures and report concerns promptly
- Maintain a safe environment, free from harm and neglect
- Record Keeping & Compliance:
- Accurately record daily logs, incidents, and keywork sessions
- Ensure documentation meets Ofsted’s standards and internal policies
- Comply with GDPR and confidentiality standards
- Communication:
- Engage respectfully and professionally with young people, colleagues, and professionals
- Attend staff meetings and training sessions
- Support external inspections and audits (e.g., Ofsted)
- Health & Safety:
- Maintain a clean, safe, and hazard-free environment
- Conduct room checks and risk assessments as required
- Follow emergency procedures
- Professional Conduct:
- Act in accordance with Eric Patrick Care Ltd’s policies and values
- Maintain professional boundaries and ethics
- Participate in supervision and ongoing personal development
