Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to individuals in need, including those with dementia and other health challenges. This position requires a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for our clients through personal care, companionship, and assistance with daily activities.
Duties
- Provide personal care to clients, including assistance with bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Support clients with meal preparation and ensure they receive proper nutrition.
- Assist with mobility and transport clients as needed, including driving them to appointments or activities.
- Offer companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive environment.
- Carry out light housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe living space for clients.
- Help clients with medication management as per their care plans.
- Engage clients in meaningful activities that promote mental stimulation and social interaction.
- Maintain accurate records of client care and report any changes in health or behaviour to the appropriate professionals.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations while providing care.
Requirements
- Previous experience in patient care or home care is highly desirable.
- A valid driving licence is preferred for transporting clients.
- Certification in First Aid is an advantage.
- Experience or training in hospice care or dementia care is beneficial.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as required when assisting clients with mobility needs.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- A compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others improve their quality of life.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends if necessary.
