The post holder is required to support the Respiratory team in the delivery of a comprehensive administrative service to a specialty team. This will involve waiting list management for a speciality, in accordance with the Patient Access Policy, communicating appointment and admission related information to patients and carers and/or typing clinic letters and correspondence as appropriate and supporting the Consultant and Clinical Nurse Specialist team.
There is a requirement to exchange verbal and written information with patients, staff and carers, requiring tact and diplomacy. The post holder will be expected to deal with queries from anxious patients and carers.
Responsibility for handling telephone and other communications with sensitivity and confidentiality using personal judgement to assess each situation and to deal with accordingly.
