About us
British Learning Academy (BLA) grew out of Brockhurst Schools and Marlston House, a well-known preparatory school with a hundred years of history.
Established in 2011, BLA offers residential English and activity programs for groups of students mainly aged 11-17.
Our courses also include project-based and business-oriented programs for individuals, groups and companies.

To educate, inspire and enrich the lives of students of all levels, helping them improve their English skills in a safe, friendly and independent environment.
We are seeking creative and fun-loving individuals to join our team at the British Learning Academy as Activity Leaders for our Summer School at Chichester University. The ideal candidates will be passionate about working with children and young people and will be available to work during the month of July.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and lead activities for groups of children and young people
- Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all participants
- Encourage and motivate participants to get involved in the activities
- Maintain a positive and inclusive environment for all participants
Requirements:
- A background in sports, drama, theatre or related fields is desirable
- Experience working with children and young people is an advantage
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Flexible and adaptable to changing situations
Person Specifications:
The team leader:
- has a professional attitude to work and communications with customers
- has a get-up and go attitude
- has previous experience of working in summer camps/centres (Desirable)
- knows how to lead a workshop/class
- is able to lead and participate in sports activities
- is at least 19 years old
- is available from June 29th to August 3rd with some positions remaining open until September 1st, 2025.
Job Type: Temporary, 0 Hours Contract. Working hours: 42 hours per week, worked in shifts across six days with one full day off.
Pay:
- Weekly pay from £420 to £550 (varies according to age/experience/whether residential or not)
- Residential and non residential positions available. Accommodation + full board can be provided if required
- One-off contribution of £50 towards travel expenses
- Fully paid induction day.
- Dates : 29th June to August 3rd with some positions remaining open until September 1st, 2025.
