About the role:
The Stock Controller plays a crucial role in the day-to-day management of inventory across all areas of the business. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate stock records, ensuring the availability of equipment, preventing loss or damage, and supporting efficient logistics and dispatch processes. This role is vital to ensuring the smooth operation and professional delivery of all dry hire services.
Your duties will include:
Stock Management
- Monitor, track, and maintain accurate inventory levels of all hire equipment.
- Conduct regular stock takes and reconciliations, investigating and resolving any discrepancies.
- Implement and maintain stock control procedures and best practices.
- Ensure all returned equipment is correctly checked, cleaned, and restocked or flagged for repair.
Equipment Logistics & Control:
- Ensure the timely and correct dispatch and return of equipment.
- Liaise with warehouse to confirm equipment availability and status.
- Track lost, damaged, or missing items and report findings to the management team.
Systems & Documentation:
- Utilise inventory management software for tracking and updates.
- Maintain accurate digital and physical records of equipment movements.
- Generate stock reports and usage analysis as required.
Maintenance & Quality Assurance:
- Collaborate with technical staff to ensure faulty items are identified, logged, and sent for repair.
- Maintain the cleanliness and functionality of stock areas.
- Ensure all equipment meets operational and safety standards before dispatch.
Process Improvement & Communication:
- Identify opportunities for improving stock control processes and warehouse efficiency.
- Work closely with the operations, logistics, and hire desk teams to forecast stock requirements.
- Participate in team meetings and communicate effectively across departments.

Experience and qualifications:
- Previous experience in stock control, warehousing, or equipment hires (preferably within the events or production industry).
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
- Proficient with inventory systems and Microsoft Office tools.
- Physically fit and capable of lifting and moving equipment.
- Forklift license or manual handling training (desirable).

Pay: £27,000.00-£32,000.00 per year
