Overview
We are seeking a skilled Steel Fixer to join our dynamic construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation and repair of structural steel and iron components in various construction projects. This role requires a strong understanding of safety protocols and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine project requirements.
- Assemble and erect steel frameworks, including beams, columns, and girders.
- Install metal decking, railings, and other structural components as required.
- Perform welding tasks as necessary to secure ironwork in place.
- Ensure all work is completed in compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
- Collaborate with other tradespeople and site supervisors to ensure project timelines are met.
- Conduct regular inspections of completed work to ensure quality standards are upheld.
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition, reporting any issues promptly.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an Ironworker or in a similar role within the construction industry.
- Proficiency in reading blueprints and technical drawings.
- Strong understanding of welding techniques and safety practices related to ironwork.
- Ability to work at heights and perform physical tasks that require strength and stamina.
- Excellent teamwork skills with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Valid safety certifications (e.g., CSCS card) are preferred but not mandatory.
- Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to changing project demands.
