We have a fantastic opportunity for a Steel Erector to join the team working at Hinkley Point C.
Our Nuclear & Infrastructure division has extensive experience in the specialist, highly regulated nuclear, transport (road and rail), process industries and power and energy sectors. Providing award winning design teams, utilising state-of-the-art design software and Tekla detailing facilities to offer customers value engineering. This gives a mix of proven success along with modern, innovative design and fabrication ideas to be able to provide a quality, specialised service to a growing market. They continue to set the bar high in their highly regulated market!
Vacancy Details
In the Steel Erector position you will erect steel following the RAMS method statement as directed by Foreman, and follow risk assessments, lift plans and permits, ensuring that you are working consistently within company procedures, both work and safety, while also following good practice and statutory legislation
Other responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Ensure all electrical equipment is checked and relevant check sheets completed prior to use.
- Ensure compliance with site working hours and shift patterns including adhering to break times.
- Ensure use of Donseed System.
- Ensure they are appropriately trained for all tasks they have been asked to carry out.
- Work as part of a team with emphasis on suitable behaviour, squad morale and productivity,
- Ensuring all plant equipment/PPE being used by them has been checked with the relevant documentation completed prior to use and is fit for purpose. Report any damage to Foreman and/or site management with immediate effect.
- Work with your squad to overcome work challenges so that programmed works can be completed on time
Key Skills & experience
One of the following –
- ECITB Diploma in:
- Erecting Engineering Construction Capital Plant Steel Structures
- Engineering Construction Lifting, Positioning and Installing Structures, Plant and Equipment
- ECITB Skills Test Alternative / Skills Test Number: TER03 or TER04
- ACE Card
- CPCS Telescopic Handler A17C would be preferred
