The Role

As part of a multidisciplinary/agency team, the post holder will manage a defined caseload, using evidence based practice to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions.

To deliver comprehensive Speech and Language Therapy services to clients with a variety of communication difficulties and/or eating/drinking/swallowing difficulties. This service will be delivered in a variety of settings. The post holder is expected to develop relevant clinical skills, knowledge and experience without direct supervision.

Duties and location may vary depending on the client group/aspect and demands of the service/level of experience.

What we'll need you to bring

  • Degree in Speech and Language Pathology or equivalent
  • Registered Speech and Language Therapist with valid HCPC Registration.
  • Practice education experience relevant to client group/aspect of service.
  • Knowledge and application of theory underpinning Speech and Language Therapy practice.
  • Knowledge of and adherence to national and local clinical guidelines.
  • Post holder will be required to demonstrate excellent team working skills with the ability to work using own initiative.
  • Effective listening, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work with people and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Working knowledge of basic information technology.
  • Car driver with a full valid UK/EU/EEA driving licence

Please note for all vacancies where a driving licence is required this must be a full UK/EU/EEA licence.

It would be great if you also have

  • Member of RCSLT

  • After 2 years’ post-registration Completion NHS Flying Start Programme and RCSLT NQP Framework

  • Experience of working with children and young people with speech, language & communication difficulties

  • Demonstrates knowledge of assessment and intervention / treatment in a manner that is consistent with evidence-based practice.

This role will be based in Speech and Language Therapy within Lanarkshire
