Position: Social Media Strategist and Content Creator
Reports to: Head of Sales and Marketing
Location: Head Office, 74 Scarva Road Banbridge BT32 3QD
Hours: Full time (40 hours)/ Permanent (primarily 8.30am to 5.00pm)

We are now seeking a creative, capable and commercially focused Social Media Strategist and Content Creator to lead and deliver our organic and paid social media strategy.
The Role:
The successful candidate will take full ownership of Gordons Chemists’ social media presence – planning, creating, publishing, and analysing content that promotes engagement, builds brand awareness and drives customer acquisition across our key platforms. You will play a key role in shaping how our customers experience our brand online, supporting key retail campaigns, health messaging, influencer activity and store-level engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement the overall social media strategy across platforms (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn and others as relevant) aligned to business goals and brand tone of voice.
- Plan and create engaging, high-quality content (image, video, captions and stories) for both organic and paid social activity.
- Manage the content calendar in line with promotions, launches, events, and seasonal campaigns.
- Set up, monitor and optimise paid social campaigns to support key sales and awareness objectives.
- Work closely with the marketing, buying and ecommerce teams to support product-led campaigns, retail initiatives, and store events.
- Analyse performance data and produce regular reports on engagement, reach, ROI and campaign outcomes, making recommendations for improvement.
- Manage and grow our follower base and customer engagement through community management and proactive interaction.
- Brief external stakeholders, or influencers, where relevant; manage user-generated content and partnerships.
- Keep up-to-date with industry and platform developments, trends and tools to ensure content and approach remain current and impactful.
- Represent the Gordons Chemists Brand positively.
- Ensure brand consistency across all content and channels.
Essential Requirements:
- Minimum of 1 year experience in a similar social media role.
- Proven track record of managing multiple social platforms and paid social campaigns (Meta Ads Manager, TikTok Ads etc.).
- Strong creative and visual skills, with hands-on experience in content creation
- Professional experience using Canva, Adobe Creative Suite or similar.
- Excellent copywriting and storytelling ability, with a clear understanding of brand tone and engagement.
- Analytical mindset with confidence using data tools to monitor, report and adapt.
- Highly organised with the ability to plan ahead and manage a busy campaign calendar.
- Self-motivated and able to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Flexible attitude to work.
- Valid Driving licence.
- Eligibility to work in UK.
Desirable Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar social media role,
- Experience in social media and/or content creation in retail, beauty, health or consumer brands.
- Experience working with influencers or content creators.
- Familiarity with social media scheduling and reporting tools (e.g. Loomly, Adobe Express).
- Basic knowledge of SEO and its relevance to social.
- Photography and/or short-form video editing skills.
