Liverpool Women's NHS Foundation Trust
£26,530 - £29,114 a year
Liverpool, England
Full time
The Cheshire & Merseyside Women’s Health and Maternity is hosted by Liverpool Women’s Hospital and is the lead for the Local Maternity System. The partnership is developing new models of care and services across Cheshire and Merseyside, designed for the population with a focus on the needs of the individual and is a work stream of the Cheshire and Merseyside Health and Care Partnership (HCP).

The Partnership was an Acute Care Collaboration Vanguard site as part of NHS England’s New Care Models programme, one of seven pioneer sites to develop Choice and Personalisation in maternity services and one of seven Early Adopter sites for the national maternity review.

The partnership has a well-established collaborative network and has progressed significantly to implement a range of transformational priorities.

The post holder will work with the Lead Midwife for Treating Tobacco Dependence, and other key members of the maternity team, to deliver evidence-based behavioural support and treatment to a caseload of pregnant women who are tobacco dependent, in a variety of clinical settings, using the support of interventions such as Carbon Monoxide (CO) monitoring and Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT).

This role is intended to tackle the health inequalities that arise from addiction and the post holder will be an integral member of the maternity team, working alongside Midwives, Obstetricians and other Healthcare Professionals (HCPs), to deliver safe and individualised care in a flexible and innovative manner.

Liverpool Women’s NHS Foundation Trust delivers the highest standards of care for women, babies and families. Each year we deliver over 7,500 babies, carry out over 49,000 gynaecological inpatient and outpatient procedures, care for over 1,000 poorly & preterm newborns, perform around 1,000 IVF cycles and have over 4,000 genetic appointments taking place. We believe that this along with a strong dedication to research & innovation makes us the specialist health provider of choice in Europe for women, babies and families.

We have some of the leading experts in their field, which has been showcased on national TV and news, making our teams famous across the world for professionalism, skill & compassion.

The Trust is constantly innovating and evolving it’s services to provide the most cutting edge and modern care possible. As well as developing services on our current site we have long-term aspirations for the future. We have recently launched a number of new strategies which provide a detailed long-term plan for our services.
