Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting the kitchen staff by assisting with food preparation, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring that all food safety standards are adhered to. Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of meals and ingredients, ensuring that all food is prepared according to recipes and specifications.
- Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment by washing dishes, sanitising surfaces, and disposing of waste properly.
- Support cooks and chefs with various tasks as needed, including chopping vegetables, marinating meats, and assembling dishes.
- Follow food safety guidelines to ensure the health and safety of all kitchen staff and patrons.
- Help with inventory management by checking stock levels and reporting any shortages to the kitchen manager.
- Participate in catering events as required, assisting with meal setup and service.
Skills
- Previous experience in food preparation or a kitchen environment is advantageous but not essential.
- Strong understanding of food safety practices and hygiene standards.
- Ability to work efficiently in a team-oriented environment while maintaining a positive attitude.
- Basic culinary skills, including knowledge of cooking techniques and meal preparation processes.
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail to ensure high-quality food presentation.
- Willingness to learn new skills and take on additional responsibilities as needed within the kitchen setting.
