Shop assistant
Applicants need to be over the age of 18 due to licensing laws.
A minimum of 13 guaranteed hours year round with opportunity for extra hours to cover annual leave and during the busier summer months.
Sundays 9-5 (with one hour unpaid lunch break)
Wednesdays 4-10
Plus alternate Friday or Saturday nights throughout the busier summer season
Extra hours available when other staff members are on holiday
Please be aware that you will need to feel confident enough to run the shop on your own during quieter evenings. You will also require the confidence to regularly ask for identification when selling age restricted items
Responsibilities:
- Assist customers in the shop with their inquiries and purchases
- Provide excellent customer service and ensure customer satisfaction
- Maintain a clean and organised shop environment
- Stock shelves and replenish inventory as needed
- Operate cash register and handle transactions accurately
- Assist with product displays and promotions
Skills:
- The ability to communicate well in English is essential
- Strong interpersonal skills to interact with customers and colleagues
-Be able to carry items up and down stairs in order to replenish stock
As a Shop Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional customer service and maintaining the overall operations of the shop. Your ability to communicate effectively in English will be essential in assisting customers.
