The Role:
To work as a specialist within the multi/interdisciplinary team providing physiotherapy input within the BIRT neurobehavioural model to people we support with acquired brain injury, across the three Brainkind pathways: Neurobehavioural, Neurorestorative, and Well-being. To lead and develop specialist physiotherapy provision within the service. To liaise with internal and external professionals, relevant organisations, family members and people we support. To act as a positive professional role model, and to pro-actively support the clinical leadership team to achieve Brainkind Objectives.
Brainkind is looking for a Senior Specialist Physiotherapist who wants to develop their experience by working in our highly regarded service at Fen House; providing strategic, professional leadership to the multi-disciplinary rehabilitation team.
Your responsibilities will include:
• To undertake comprehensive neurological assessments, analyses, and treatment plans.
• To deliver effective treatment plans and progress/adjust according to the People We Support response, multi/inter disciplinary team discussion, and other influencing factors.
• To ensure that treatment plans are informed by the best evidence and practice guidelines.
• To provide specialist professional advice and support for complex cases, and lead on complex clinical problem-solving.
• To lead on a specialist area of interest within the wider physio team, in agreement with clinical lead.
• To work pro-actively as part of the multi/inter disciplinary team providing physiotherapy input within the BIRT neurobehavioral/ neuropsychological model.
• To provide specialist physiotherapeutic interventions across the three Brainkind pathways: Neurobehavioural, Neurorestorative, and Well-being.
• To provide specialist clinical support and supervision to students, assistants, and physiotherapy colleagues, sufficient for them to carry-out their clinical roles effectively.
About you:
What are we looking for?
• Degree in Physiotherapy or equivalent.
• Registered with the HCPC.
• Practice Placement qualification or willingness to undertake this qualification within the first year.
• Extensive experience of working with people we support with neurological deficits, including acquired brain injury.
• Experience of performing complex physiotherapy assessments and interventions in ABI rehabilitation.
• Knowledge and application of physiotherapy principles in neurorehabilitation.
• Specialist knowledge of principles in neurophysiotherapy.
• Minimum of 4 years post registration with at least 2 years in neurological rehabilitation or in a related field such as learning disabilities, MSK, mental health.
• Full Driving licence and willingness to drive people we support in unit vehicles.
• Ability/willingness to travel and stay overnight to meet the operation need.
• Ability to work flexible hours within reason to meet the needs of people we support.
