Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced security professional who is ready to shape and lead the future of security within our organisation. As our corporate Senior Security Advisor, you will be at the forefront of strategic planning and operational excellence developing and delivering a Trust-wide security vision that keeps our people, patients, and assets safe across multiple healthcare sites.

This high impact role requires a skilled leader with a deep understanding of security risk management, policy development, regulatory compliance, and stakeholder engagement. You will oversee and advise on all aspects of physical security, violence prevention, emergency preparedness, and resilience planning. You will ensure alignment with NHS standards, legislation, and the evolving needs of a modern healthcare system.

You will need strong leadership credentials, the ability to influence at Board level, and a passion for driving improvements through data, technology, and people. Your decisions will help shape a security culture that supports clinical excellence, staff wellbeing, and public trust.

Main duties, tasks & skills required

We are seeking a strategic and experienced Senior Security Advisor to lead and strengthen corporate security across our Trust. In this pivotal role, you will provide expert guidance on physical and procedural security measures, drive the development of a pro-security culture, and ensure compliance with NHS violence prevention standards.

You will lead proactive site assessments, deliver detailed reports with practical recommendations, and manage the investigation and reporting of security incidents and breaches. Your ability to engage with patients and staff especially in challenging environments will be key, along with your understanding of the root causes of violence and aggression in clinical settings.

Collaboration is vital, and you'll work closely with police and external partners, represent the Trust in legal proceedings when required, and support services with post-incident reviews and risk mitigation. You will also lead security projects, develop key policies, and deliver expert training on lone working and protective devices.

This is a high impact role for a confident, professional leader who wants to make a meaningful difference in a complex, purpose driven environment. Join us and help shape a safer future for NHS staff, patients, and services.
