Smithridge Care and Support are seeking Senior Children Residential support workers on either a temporary basis or temporary to permanent basis.
Shift patterns
10-to-15-hour shifts, Sleep Ins and Waking nights available.
Pay
From £14 per hour
We currently work with several clients based around the West Midlands and Midlands. Covering areas such as Wolverhampton, Walsall, Cannock, Telford, Shrewsbury, Stoke on Trent and Milton Keynes. We support EBD and LD residential homes.
We are looking for experienced Senior Residential support workers or Team Leaders, those who may have experience working with Children directly within Residential homes, Schools, family centers and more.
The ideal candidates would be those who have an empathetic and understanding nature, who have a desire to aid children and young people in achieving their aspirations.

TEMP Shifts
Are you looking for a temporary role? Do you wish to work around your life at home? Smithridge Care & Support provides temporary cover to Children Residential homes that need support, Providing flexibility and autonomy of your own working schedule.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise a team of residential staff, ensuring high standards of care.
- Lead and manage the home in the absence of the homes manager.
- Assist the Registered Manager / Deputy to lead and manage the children’s home consistent with the approach and ethos of the organization, delivering outcomes and high quality care as set out in the Home’s statement of purpose.
- Develop and implement individual care plans and risk assessments that encourage children to thrive.
- Promote positive behavior management techniques among staff and children.
- Promote positive working environment which nurtures and rewards good practice.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the residential setting.
Essential
- NVQ Level 3 or Level 4 Diploma in Children’s and young people workforce – Or working towards
- Full UK Manual Driving Licence
- At least 2 years’ experience working with Children within a residential home
- Must be 21 years of age and above
- Experience of working within and leading a team
Desirable
- Experience in working within settings where skills and knowledge are transferable in the therapeutic parenting role
- Experience in working within settings where skills and knowledge are transferable in supporting those with a learning difference
