Watch this short clip to discover how Arup are shaping a better world and how you could be a part of it!

The Opportunity
We are looking for a Senior Health and Safety Project Specialist who will provide general and specialist health and safety support and advice to the business, and discharge key health and safety roles including but not limited to CDM Principal Designer, CDM Advisor, and Health, Safety and Wellbeing Lead, on a range of projects.

The Senior Health and Safety Project Specialist will play a pivotal part in shaping health and safety practices across major projects, from the initial bidding phase through to delivery to ensure H&S needs are fully integrated. Your expertise will guide teams in addressing design and project-related risks, ensuring compliance with regulations such as the CDM Regulations, the Building Regulations and the Building Safety Act.

You will also establish H&S competency frameworks, deliver specialised training, and lead the investigation of serious incidents to drive continuous improvement. This is an opportunity to make a significant impact on project safety and success, working within a forward-thinking, innovative environment.

At Arup, you belong to an extraordinary collective – in which we encourage individuality to thrive. Our strength comes from how we respect, share and connect our diverse experiences, perspectives and ideas.
You will have the opportunity do socially useful work that has meaning – to Arup, to your career, to our members and to the clients and communities we serve.

Is this role right for you?

We are looking for people who:
  • Have relevant industry experience and technical expertise in Construction, Built Environment and/or Infrastructure development within a business support environment, and are able to demonstrate relevant Competence (Skills, Knowledge, Attitude, Training, Experience and Behaviours).
  • Have expertise in delivery of a broad range of CDM/H&S related advice with substantial design risk experience in construction and infrastructure-related disciplines.
  • Have knowledge of ISO 45001, 14001 and 9001, BS 8670 and associated standards and PAS.
  • Are chartered professional, or seeking chartered status (e.g., CMIOSH, CMaPS or chartered engineer).
  • NEBOSH National Certificate in Construction Health and Safety or Health and Safety Management.
