The Role
We are currently recruiting for a Senior Housing Officer to join a high-performing team in Woodford Green, East London on a 20-week temporary assignment. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced housing professional with strong leadership and operational skills.
You will lead a team of Housing Officers, ensuring that performance targets are met or exceeded, while delivering excellent housing services that are customer-focused, efficient, and aligned with local and organisational priorities.
Key Responsibilities
- Motivate and develop Housing Officers to act as local neighbourhood champions
- Drive customer-focused service delivery through effective supervision and support
- Embed resident priorities into local housing strategies
- Monitor team budgets and staffing in line with financial regulations
- Ensure customer access, case handling, and neighbourhood management are robust and responsive
- Contribute to borough-wide investment programmes and asset management collaboration
- Respond to ASB and nuisance issues with a focus on sustainable solutions through multi-agency working
- Support vulnerable residents with signposting and support mechanisms
- Build strong working relationships with residents, ward councillors, local agencies, and other service providers
- Champion communication strategies to keep staff and residents informed and engaged
Key Requirements
- Proven experience in housing management and team leadership
- Strong knowledge of tenancy enforcement, ASB casework, and neighbourhood services
- Confident communicator with stakeholder engagement experience
- Able to manage budgets, meet KPIs, and drive strategic improvements
- Familiarity with current housing legislation and safeguarding practices
