Senior Health & Safety Consultant
Location: London & Southeast (Home-based, with travel)
Salary: £38,000 – £45,000 + attractive benefits package
We are seeking a dedicated Senior Health & Safety Consultant to support our clients in achieving compliance with current legislation across General Health & Safety, Construction Safety, and Fire Management.
Reporting to the Senior Safety Consultant, you will play a pivotal role in driving both strategic and operational improvements, ensuring the highest standards of health, safety, and compliance across a diverse portfolio of clients.
This is a home-based position requiring regular travel across the region. The role is 45 hours per week, with flexibility required to meet client needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and continually improve clients’ health & safety policies, procedures, and strategies.
- Promote strong HSE performance and encourage a proactive, positive safety culture.
- Conduct fire risk assessments and provide expert advice.
- Lead operational audits, accident investigations, training, and risk assessments.
- Provide clear risk management advice, identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks effectively.
- Deliver HSE updates and reports to Director level.
- Carry out health & safety audits across industries, including construction, producing KPI reports, action plans, and solutions.
- Support Employer Liability claims in liaison with the Insurance Claims Department.
- Ensure best practice across client operations, maintaining compliance with legal and policy requirements.
- Prepare and distribute quotations.
Qualifications & Experience
Essential:
- NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent).
- NEBOSH Construction Certificate (or equivalent).
- NEBOSH Fire Management Certificate (or equivalent).
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a management role, with proven success in driving HSE improvements.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Practical, solution-driven approach to safety management.
- In-depth knowledge of current HSE legislation.
- Excellent organisational skills with high attention to detail.
- Able to train others in various H&S subjects.
- IT proficiency and full UK driving licence.
Desirable:
- TechIOSH or GradIOSH membership.
- Teacher Training certificate (or equivalent).
