Description of Department
It is an exciting time to join the Finance Team. The team is being developed to provide an exceptional finance service supporting and enabling front line policing. This includes supporting transformational change, driving commercial opportunities and building strong relationships across the Force and with our partners.
Purpose of the Role
The Senior Finance Business Partner (Projects) will be deployed across a portfolio of high priority transformation projects, working closely with the Change Portfolio Office (CPO), finance colleagues and operational leads.
The post will provide financial oversight, strategic alignment, and value realisation across Force projects and the portfolio as a whole. The role will bridge the gap between finance and operations, enabling more agile, data-driven decision-making during a period of significant transformation.
Key deliverables will include:
- Economic and Financial Business Case Development
- Monthly project financial dashboards.
- Forecast accuracy improvement.
- Financial risk and opportunity assessments.
- Post implementation financial reviews.
The post will work with the leadership of City of London Police to provide critical finance insight and business intelligence ensuring that the Force’s strategic objectives are met.
The post will ensure robust financial governance, risk mitigation, performance optimisation, and financial standards and practices are compliant.
Selection Process
This role is open to all Police Staff and external candidates who meet the essential criteria of the person specification, regardless of current grade. Applicants who fail to address the skills/knowledge/experience of the job description will not be considered.
The application and interview will be tested under Level 3 of the College of Policing Competency and Values Framework.
