This role will business partner the Services SLT (Senior Leadership Team) to set strategic direction, drive performance and deliver against the growth ambitions. Using your strong commercial acumen, you will independently advise and challenge the business area, communicate financial performance and use your financial and business insight to drive business outcomes.
This role will also work closely with the Supply Chain & Service Ops and Commercial teams, providing assessment of new propositions and promotions to understand and maximise end-to-end profitability. It will operate with gravitas, confidence and credibility, providing both partnership and challenge to the business unit and leadership in order to maximise its performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Finance Business partner to the Services SLT, developing your knowledge of a complex business unit to enable you to influence its strategy and plans whilst delivering on committed business outcomes
- Manage and communicate weekly & periodic financial performance updates to Services SLT, communicating key drivers of performance and actively utilizing your commercial acumen to challenge financial and non-financial results
- Manage the forecasting process for Services budgets, defining the timetable, engaging and challenging the Services SLT on headwinds and initiatives to be included. Deliver a robust submission and present the story in a clear and compelling manner to all stakeholders
- Identify opportunities to improve business outcomes and influence the delivery of these with the Services SLT
- Manage the tracking of implemented initiatives to ensure the benefits are in line with expectations. Proactively challenge where performance deviates and work with stakeholders to flex the plan when required to ensure we maximise the value from the investment
- Drive improvements in ways of working within the role, across the Finance team and across wider Services team. This includes simplifying and automating performance reporting, streamlining processes, transitioning reporting activity to Infosys, etc.
- Lead, support and develop the Infosys accounting team who are responsible for delivering weekly and period end financial reporting. Build their knowledge of the business unit to maximise the value from the team
- Ownership for the Services period pack, ensuring the financial and operational metrics accurately communicate the performance of the business unit. Continuous improve the content to ensure the metrics and explanations reflect business unit changes
Required Skills & Experience:
- Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to build strong relationships whilst influencing and challenging GLT stakeholders to deliver improved business outcomes
- Strong commercial acumen, adept at comprehending complex business areas, and skilled in identifying opportunities and executing these
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to communicate with GLT stakeholders to articulate complex messages in a compelling manner via all means of communication
- Outcome focused with a track record of delivering end to end solutions in a planned and controlled manner
- Demonstrates strong resilience with a track record of delivering results in high-pressure environments
- Proactive approach with a continuous improvement mindset. Experience of instigating and delivering change within a business unit to improve performance, ways of working, etc.
- Robust organisational skills, capable of meeting stringent deadlines while maintaining a meticulous focus on high attention to detail.
- Strong financial modelling and system skills including Excel, PowerPoint etc.
- Recognised Accountancy Qualification: ACA, CIMA or ACCA
- PQE 5 years +
