Where you’ll work:
Depending on the needs of your business area, we expect hub based people to be in the office at least once a week, and to go to OVO Connection events in-person.
You’ll be assigned to the closest one of our hub offices, Bristol or London; unless your role requires field-based work. Each hub has accessible spaces to park your laptop, is designed to inspire people, help them connect and bring big ideas to life.

Extremely exciting opportunity to work in a major, progressive utilities business working across our Commercial business area with a particular focus on pulling commercial insights, driving opportunities and optimising our use of Customer lifetime Value (CLV)
This role in a nutshell:
The Senior Data analyst will be responsible for gathering, reviewing and analysing data to generate actionable insights. They work closely with a large number of stakeholders on all levels and across the organisation to test hypotheses, validate insights and help drive change where there is value.
Their activities fall into the following main areas:
- Performance reporting to senior stakeholders - ensuring accurate and timely submissions of performance data (weekly and monthly) to senior stakeholders such as CEO and CCO for internal meetings and Board meetings
- Provide insights - supporting the Head of Commercial Optimisation & CLV in gathering, analysing and presenting actionable insights to CCO, VP of Growth and the Director of Retain & Engage.
- From insights to benefits - engage stakeholders / other teams to turn insights into actions to improve OVO’s performance.
- Interrogating data sets and model outputs to help uncover issues in data, validate hypotheses and identify and root cause trends
Your key outcomes will be:
- Own the accuracy of the data and become expert on data flows and definitions within Commercial
- Work hand in hand with those that are involved in CLV to answer critical questions and unlock opportunities
- Produce and update weekly and monthly dashboards and KPI scorecard used by CEO, CCO, and the broader leadership team to monitor business performance
- Help turn insights into action, collaborating with other teams and manage some of the changes/activities identified through to positive outcomes
- Establish and proactively manage relationships with multiple stakeholders across the business to gather data and generate insights
- Support broader teams with data requests including connecting multiple data sets from across the business to provide a rich picture to support with decision making
- Be the interlock across different data teams, gaining a good understanding of data owners and nuances that exist in our data
You’ll be a successful Senior Data Analyst Role here at OVO if you…
- Have hands-on experience with technologies such as Google cloud, BigQuery, Github, Tableau and Looker
- Basic Python knowledge would be an advantage
- Advanced Excel/ Google sheet skills Experience with Tableau or Looker Studio
- Experience and knowledge within the energy sector will be an advantage
- Experience at visualising and analysing data to identify trends, inconsistencies and insights
- Ability to start a project from conception and work with various teams to ensure a positive outcome
- A keen eye for detail and ability to produce high quality deliverables.
- Strong problem solving, analytical and critical thinking skills
- Ability to collaborate with others and work with a degree of autonomy
- Comfortable navigating change and uncertainty, with a flexible working attitude

We’ll pay you between £45,000 - £65,000, depending on your specific skills and experience.
