The Opportunity:
To satisfy the needs of our growing client base, Hamilton Lane is looking to hire a Senior Associate, Compliance to join our European Compliance Team.
Your responsibilities will be to:
- Provide Compliance advisory oversight and support to Hamilton Lane’s EMEA offices
- Assist with drafting and maintaining of compliance policies and procedures.
- Assist in preparing regulatory reporting (incl. the FCA, BaFin and CSSF).
- Research regulatory updates and draft briefing notes, and participate in regulatory change projects as required.
- Liaise and manage external consultants, lawyers and advisers
- Coordinating with internal groups in the collection of audit requests.
- Assist with the design, implementation and execution of the Compliance Monitoring Program based on the Compliance Risk Assessment.
- Ensure marketing activity is conducted in compliance with regulations.
- Assist in overseeing the ongoing SMCR framework for Hamilton Lane’s UK entities.
- Various ad hoc projects as requested.
Your background and skills will include:
- 5+ years of experience in a similar position
- Financial services experience, ideally with a focus on private markets
- Legal background is advantageous but not essential
- Experience dealing directly with UK and European (ideally BaFin) regulators
- Working understanding of European regulations including MIFID II, AIFMD, SFDR, GDPR, SMCR etc.
- AML experience highly desirable
- Proven communication and analytical skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
- Must be proactive, self-starter and able to interact with people who have varied personalities and work styles.
- Language Skills Preferred – German and/or Italian
- Bachelor’s degree
