Overview: The Community Physiotherapy Team is part of Tasmania’s Department of Health and plays a vital role in delivering person-centred, community-based physiotherapy services. The team focuses on supporting individuals to maintain or improve their mobility, independence, and quality of life—particularly those with chronic conditions, or recent hospital discharges.

As a part of the Department of Health, the Community Physiotherapy Team aligns with the broader mission of improving the health and wellbeing of Tasmanians through accessible, safe, and coordinated care. The team contributes to public health goals by enabling people to stay at home longer, reducing hospital reliance, and strengthening preventative health at the community level.

The Community Physiotherapy team within Primary Health North:

Our team works across all the Primary Health sites in Northern Tasmania. 

Community Physiotherapy aims to optimise physical function and enhance independence and quality of life for eligible people within the community. The physiotherapist will assess a person’s condition and develop an appropriate treatment plan together with their client. This may include:

Our service places a strong focus on health promotion and active self-management. Working in collaboration with other health professionals, Physiotherapists are also actively involved in chronic disease prevention, physical activity and health promotion activities in various healthcare and community settings.

Details of appointment:

Multiple, fixed term, part time, day worker positions, working up to 47 hours per fortnight, 30/06/2025 until 09/02/2026.

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary: $110,425 to $121,907 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

Salary Packaging:

You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.
