Overview:
As Senior Commercial Counsel, you will play a key role in advising our business and negotiating a broad range of commercial contracts across our UK and European operations. You will provide pragmatic legal guidance to stakeholders, helping the business achieve its commercial goals while effectively managing risk and ensuring compliance with UK, EU and EU member state laws and relevant international considerations.
Responsibilities :
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide variety of commercial agreements, including client services contracts (MSAs, SOWs, SLAs), vendor agreements, and non-disclosure agreements.
- Provide clear, business-focused advice on UK and EU contract law and commercial best practices.
- Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of contract templates, playbooks, and legal processes.
- Collaborate with operational, commercial, clinical and leadership teams to provide high quality, commercially-focused and pragmatic legal advice on a wide range of topics.
- Advise generally on legal and regulatory requirements relevant to our business and services in the UK and EU, including GDPR, AI, advertising and marketing standards, and technology-related regulations.
Qualifications:
- Qualified solicitor or barrister in England & Wales with 5–10 years’ post-qualification experience in a law firm or in-house legal role preferred. Applicants qualified only in EU jurisdictions may be considered with compelling UK commercial experience.
- Strong experience negotiating and drafting software/SaaS commercial contracts, license agreements, services agreements, technology agreements, vendor contracts, and other types of commercial agreements, especially with respect to the healthcare and health tech space.
- Solid experience providing in-house legal advice in a fast-paced start up or scale up environment.
- Ability to provide pragmatic, commercially minded solutions to legal issues.
- Excellent drafting skills, attention to detail, and analytical capabilities.
- A proactive, collaborative team player who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced and rapidly-evolving start up environment.
- Fluent in English (written and spoken); additional European languages are a plus.
- Proficiency in data security, data privacy and AI regulations are a plus.
- Experience in the healthcare or health tech space is a plus.
