What you’ll be doing
You’ll have your own portfolio of claims to handle through to settlement. These claims will involve situations where our customer has damaged another driver’s property and someone has been injured. You’ll be investigating and deciding who was responsible for the incident and if applicable liaising with the other driver’s representative to settle their claim.
You’ll be providing training and coaching, completing month audits, reviewing internal processes and developing strategies to ensure your team achieve their strategic objectives and Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s).
You’ll also have your own portfolio of claims to handle through to settlement. These claims will involve situations where our customer has damaged another driver’s property, someone has been injured and may have been provided with a replacement vehicle on a credit basis. You’ll be investigating and deciding who was responsible for the incident and agreeing settlement of the other driver’s claim.
Training
Excellent training is provided! Your corporate induction will be completed in the first 8 days followed by a 10 week training programme which is all completed onsite. This will help you understand the role, give you the best start and tools in your career. You’ll have the opportunity to move to hybrid working once competent in the role.
You’ll be responsible for:
- Providing excellent service to our customers on the telephone and in writing
- Guiding the customer through the claims process
- Keeping the customer’s broker updated
- Handling your own portfolio of claims valued at up to £125,000
- Identifying indemnity concerns
- Identifying potential fraud and referring to the relevant department
- Investigating and decided who is responsible for the incident
- Settling the other driver’s claim effectively
- Be a technical referral point for colleagues
- Supporting colleagues by providing training, coaching and sharing knowledge
- Developing strategies to ensure best outcomes for our customer and Somerset Bridge Limited
- Achieving strategic objectives through departmental Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s)
What you'll need:
- To be already working within a personal injury area with substantial experience of managing a personal injury caseload.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills along with effective listening and empathy
- Strong attention to detail
- Strong negotiation skills
- Organised with ability to prioritise your workload.
- To be able to make decisions based on the information presented
- To be a team player
- A passion for delivering an excellent customer service experience and finding the best outcome for our customers
- To be proficient in technology, particularly Microsoft Office. You will frequently multitask and use multiple systems simultaneously to perform your responsibilities effectively
- To be able to delivery coaching and training
- To review data and develop strategies
- To be flexible in assisting colleagues to collectively meet agreed goals and alter priorities as requested sometimes at short notice
