Legal Assistant – Personal Injury & Industrial Disease
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a well-established and highly regarded Personal Injury team within a respected UK law firm. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting senior solicitors on complex cases involving serious injuries and industrial disease claims, including asbestos-related matters.
This position offers a strong foundation for those looking to develop a legal career in personal injury and industrial disease litigation. You’ll gain hands-on experience, engage directly with clients, and contribute to case management, legal research, and marketing initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Handling new client enquiries and providing first-line support
- Assisting with complex personal injury and asbestos/mesothelioma claims
- Drafting legal correspondence and court documents
- Preparing court bundles and conducting defendant research
- Drafting supporting documents such as care statements and Part 8 proceedings
- Supporting marketing efforts, including social media management, article writing, and attendance at charity events
- General administrative support and case file management using various legal and office systems (e.g., iManage, MatterSphere, Outlook 365)
What We're Looking For:
- Previous experience in claimant personal injury or asbestos-related work is desirable
- Good understanding of personal injury and industrial disease law
- Confident communicator, comfortable speaking with clients
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Able to work independently and collaboratively within a team
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and legal case management systems
- Motivated, organised, and eager to learn
