Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Senior Care Assistant to join our team in providing exceptional care to residents in a care home setting. This role involves supervising care staff, implementing care plans, and ensuring that all residents receive the highest standard of care.
Duties
- Assist residents with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility support.
- Supervise and support junior care staff in their duties to ensure compliance with care standards.
- Develop and implement individualised care plans in collaboration with healthcare professionals and families.
- Communicate effectively with residents, their families, and the multidisciplinary team to ensure continuity of care.
- Maintain accurate records of resident care and progress using IT systems as required.
- Drive residents to appointments or activities as needed, ensuring their safety and comfort during transport.
- Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in senior care practices.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a senior care or similar role is essential.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with residents and their families.
- Proven leadership abilities to supervise a team of care assistants effectively.
- Knowledge of developing and implementing care plans tailored to individual resident needs.
- A valid driving licence is preferred for transporting residents when necessary.
- Proficiency in IT systems for record keeping and communication purposes is advantageous.
