Working Hours: 8:30-15:30 Monday - Friday Term-Time Only
Job Overview:
We are looking for a committed and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to join the dedicated team at a specialist setting in Westminster catering to pupils with a wide range of complex learning needs. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a well-resourced environment, providing life-changing support to pupils aged 3–19.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with severe learning difficulties, autism, and associated communication needs
- Assist in implementing EHCP targets and personalised learning plans
- Support with physical care needs including toileting, feeding, and mobility where necessary
- Use a range of communication strategies including Makaton and PECS
- Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other support staff
Requirements:
- Experience supporting children or young people with complex SEND
- Strong understanding of inclusive education and safeguarding
- Patience, resilience, and a calm approach to challenging behaviour
- Willingness to undertake training in relevant strategies and care routines
- A positive, team-oriented attitude with high expectations for all learners
