This is an exciting opportunity to join Warrington Borough Council as we move forward with the development of local special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) services.
The role
We are looking for diligent and meticulous SEND Casework Officers to support the SEND Team to comply with the requirements set out in the SEND Code of Practice 2014, to support professionals to review, monitor and assess the education, health and care needs of children and young people with SEND.
You will work within the SEND team at Warrington Borough Council and report directly to one of the SEND team managers.There are 3 Permanent posts and 1 fixed-term 12 month post.
What's needed?
The successful candidate will have:
- Excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Excellent organisational skills.
- The ability to manage time efficiently and meet deadlines, especially with regards to statutory timescales for EHCP Annual Reviews and Key Stage Transfers.
- The ability to work independently.
- The ability to manage relationships with parents and children and young people, building positive relationships.
- Resilience under pressure.
- The ability to demonstrate a high degree of awareness to the needs of service users.
