SENCO – SEMH School (Near Lewes)
Full-Time | Teachers’ Pay Scale | Monday–Friday, 8:30am–4:30pm
Are you a passionate and qualified SENCO looking to make a real difference in the lives of children with social, emotional, and mental health needs? We are seeking a dynamic and committed SENCO to join our nurturing and innovative SEMH school located just outside Lewes .
This is a multi-site role offering variety, challenge, and the opportunity to work closely with small groups of pupils (around 6 per class) in a highly supportive environment.
About the Role
As our SENCO, you will:
- Lead and coordinate SEND provision across multiple sites.
- Work closely with staff, families, and external agencies to ensure every pupil receives tailored support.
- Deliver high-quality teaching in the classroom as part of your role.
- Monitor and evaluate EHCPs, interventions, and progress. Champion inclusive practices and positive behaviour strategies.
What We’re Looking For
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- National SENCO Qualification
- Experience working with SEMH pupils or in specialist settings.
- A driver’s licence and access to a vehicle (essential due to location and multi-site nature). A warm, resilient, and proactive approach to supporting vulnerable learners.

Location
Our school is set in a peaceful rural location just outside Lewes, East Sussex. Due to limited public transport, driving is essential .
