Job Overview
We are seeking a Semi Skilled Warehouse Operative to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our warehouse by performing simple joinery tasks in the production and maintenance of stock, ability to use hand tools and simple joinery machinery is required. In addition various tasks related to materials handling, shipping, and receiving. This position requires a strong work ethic and the ability to perform heavy lifting as well as operate warehouse equipment safely.
Duties
- Simple joinery tasks using hand tools and crosscut and panel saw
- Operate forklifts for loading and unloading goods.
- Perform cleaning, picking and packing of products for dispatch, ensuring accuracy and quality standards are met.
- Repairing stillages and pallets and preparing materials for shipment.
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Conduct regular inspections of equipment to ensure proper functioning and report any mechanical issues.
- Engage in heavy lifting tasks as required, ensuring safe handling techniques are followed.
Requirements
- Basic joinery skills are required
- Driving licence and use of own vehicle - due to location this is essential
- Team worker - happy to work in all areas as required
- Previous experience in a warehouse environment is preferred but not essential
- Proficiency in operating forklifts; certification is a plus
- Ability to perform materials handling tasks efficiently, including heavy lifting (up to 25 kg)
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and teamwork

Pay: £14.50-£15.00 per hour
