About The Role
Due to the continued growth of our business, we are now looking to recruit an additional Semi-Skilled Maintenance Operative in our Facilities team based at our site in Scunthorpe Quartz. The role will be Monday to Friday, rotating between 05:00-13:30 and 10:00-18:30. The salary for this position is £33,000 + £2000 Shift Allowance.
Main responsibilities:
- Carry out PPM’s to set standards and update appropriate records
- Operating and monitoring of the Water treatment plant, critical maintenance of the water treatment plant is fundamental to the operation on site
- Carry out minor mechanical, electrical (where qualified) and plumbing works
- Conduct unplanned maintenance tasks as and when requested by management team
- Inspect and troubleshoot equipment i.e. dust suppression systems, heating etc.
- Check functionality of safety systems i.e. fire detection, protection etc.
- Adhere to all health, safety and environmental requirements (including risk assessments and any accident investigations)
- Report to Maintenance Team leader
In addition to any other duties, as a responsible person you must ensure that you have read, understood and adhere to polices and procedure relating to Health and Safety, and your responsibilities located in the Integrated Management System (IMS) Responsibilities document.
About You
Desired skills and knowledge:
- Ability to demonstrate experience of preventative maintenance activities
- Good working knowledge of machine maintenance and operation, and of computerised maintenance management systems
- Previous experience of mechanical, electrical and/or plumbing works, preferably within a facilities background
- Qualified to at least NVQ level 3 (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering discipline
- IT literate with excellent communication skills
- Pro-active attitude
