Full-Time Night Security Operative – Emergency Accommodation (Central Brighton)
We’re recruiting for a dedicated and professional Night Security Operative to work in emergency accommodation supporting vulnerable adults in Central Brighton.
Location: Central Brighton
Shifts: 4 on 4 offNight shifts (First two are 15-hour shifts, the second two are 12-hour shifts on a rolling rota)
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Rate of Pay: £12.50 per hour
Training: Additional paid training provided
Employment Type: Self-employed or PAYE
About the Role:
This is a key position for someone committed to creating a safe, supportive environment for individuals living in emergency accommodation. Working overnight on a 4 on 4 off rolling rota, you’ll be the sole operative on site, responsible for both security and welfare related duties.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducting regular welfare checks throughout the night
- Completing all required paperwork and incident reports
- Providing a pro-social, calm, and supportive presence to residents
- Monitoring the premises and maintaining a safe environment
- Managing incidents professionally and escalating when appropriate
Ideal Candidate:
- Holds a valid SIA Door Supervisor licence
- Previous experience in security, homelessness support, or similar environments
- Strong sense of responsibility and emotional intelligence
- Comfortable working alone overnight
- Excellent communication and conflict de-escalation skills
