Role: Female Security Officer Must hold Door Supervisors Licence.
Job Type: ad hoc
Location: Colchester
Hours/Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday 0800 - 1700 Term time only.
Number of Positions: 1
About the Role:
We are seeking a professional, vigilant and approachable Security Officer to join our safeguarding and site support team within a busy educational environment. This role is integral to ensuring the safety and wellbeing of students, staff, and visitors across the campus.
Key Responsibilities:
- Patrolling the premises during school/college hours and events
- Monitoring CCTV and alarm systems
- Supporting staff with security or behavioural incidents
- Conducting bag checks or female searches when necessary
- Maintaining a calm and reassuring presence around students
- Logging incidents and maintaining clear reports for the safeguarding team
- Controlling access to the building and visitor management
- Liaising with staff, site management, and emergency services if required
Requirements:
- Valid SIA Door Supervisor or Security Guarding Licence (essential)
- Enhanced DBS check (or willing to apply for one through us)
- Previous experience in a school/college or similar environment is desirable
- Excellent communication skills and a calm, confident manner
- Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection principles (training can be provided)
- Must be 18+ (SIA licensing requirement)
