We currently have a vacancy for a Seasonal Landscape Operative working within the Landscape section operating from our Mildenhall Depot.
The successful candidates will need experience of working in a demanding and pressured environment, ideally with a Grounds Maintenance background. Depending on your performance, you could be considered for any full-time roles which may become available during the period that this post is available.
The ideal candidate will assist the Mildenhall Landscape Chargehand in the delivery of a Grass Cutting back up work using hand-held powered tools, i.e. Strimmer, Pedestrian Mower and Banks Mower.
Dependant on your current skills, other main duties are likely to include general grounds maintenance activities including hedge trimming, leaf clearance and litter collection using appropriate plant and equipment, together with a whole range of other horticultural operations as specified in the
You will also be required to carry out any other work appropriate to the grade of the post as required.
You are going to need a flexible approach as the role will include working some weekends and public holidays working. Actual working hours will be agreed against the requirements of the service during operational hours, which are 06:00 – 18:00 Mon – Sunday.
You will be able to demonstrate a positive approach to Health & Safety and be prepared to take on additional training as required. Ensuring work is carried out to the standards required and meets the deadlines required.
You will be customer focused and be able to demonstrate a desire to deliver high standards of service. You will have basic I.T. skills and be able to operate ‘in cab’ and ‘handheld’ technology and other in-house systems as appropriate. Training will be provided in these systems as required.
You will hold a current Class B+E licence, and have your own means of transport. Operational experience of Ride on Cylinder and Rotary Mowers is desirable, but not essential.
