School Cook
40 hours per week, 40 weeks per year (Term Time Only)
Actual Salary: £23,083.20 FTE: £26,308.80

We are seeking to appoint a School Cook to work as part of the catering team working in the school kitchens across our two sites in Bristol. Ideally, you will have experience of working in a catering environment and will be able to manage and prioritise a varied workload. The successful candidate must have knowledge and an interest in preparing wholesome meals from locally sourced and seasonal produce and possess a strong understanding of cultural and dietary needs and intolerances.
Main Duties to include:
· To plan nutritious lunches, and any other meals, to be served in the school dining room with support from the Catering Tutor.
· To provide high quality meals using biodynamic/organically grown food using the principles outlined in the food and nutrition policy.
· To prepare and cook lunches and other meals as required, considering all dietary and cultural requirements, and keeping the sensory needs of pupils in mind.
· To be responsible for monitoring and recording a high standard of Health and Safety and food hygiene, including arranging and supervising cleaning of the catering and eating areas using environmentally friendly products.
· To set up, manage and monitor ordering systems to ensure that food is purchased from local and organic suppliers with support from the Catering Teacher.
