Summary of Job:
- To undertake Sales Estimator role as priority, providing cover for permanent Sales Order Processor, as and when required
- Sales Estimator role – to assist with the compilation of email enquiries and preparation of standard equipment quotations
- To assist with customer feedback; follow up of telephone enquiries and follow up of export enquires
- To assist with meeting sales targets, whilst maximising both customer satisfaction and profitability
- To ensure the ongoing continuous improvement of sales by developing and maintaining good working relationships with clients and agents
- Sales Order Processor role – Refer to JS/28 – work relating to this Job Specification should take precedence in the absence of the full time Sales Order Processor
Staff relationship:
- Directly responsible to the Sales Manger
- Liaises externally with clients, agents, suppliers and sub-contractors
- Liaises internally with all departments, i.e. Purchasing, Engineering, Production, Quality, Accounts
Duties and responsibilities:
- Shall be fully committed to the achievement of company policies and objectives with special respect to quality and safety
- Checking with senior sales department personnel that email enquiries are within BFE’s scope of supply prior to printing, compiling and declining, where appropriate
- To compile email enquiries, including relevant enquiry specifications, etc.
- To send off bid acknowledgements, where appropriate
- To progress enquiries that are with sub-vendors and those awaiting information from the client
- To give appropriate feedback to the Sales Manager, regarding price, delivery, etc
- To prepare quotations for Barton Firtop standard equipment, quoting customers both verbally and by email, as appropriate
- To prepare quotations for ‘bough out’ equipment, using sub-vendor quotations as a template
- To take customer queries and enquiries over the telephone
- To build and maintain good working relationships with customers and agents
- To carry out any additional duties (including Reception cover), which may be necessary from time to time, to ensure the smooth running of the sales operation
- Approval of contract reviews for standard equipment, spares files and SPIRs
- To undertake reasonable instructions and tasks from senior personnel, commensurate with the nature of the job and in the best interests of the company

Hours of work
Office hours enable flexi-time working, covering a 37-hour week. Flexible start and finish times are available with core hours which must be covered each day. Monday to Thursday covers an 8-hour shift and Friday covers a 5-hour shift. Further details will be given at interview stage.
