An opportunity is available for a Road Sweeper driver (left hand drive) based in Meriden – CV7 with travel to all NRS quarries as and when required.
Experience preferred.
You must be able to work on own initiative.
Requirements:
· Hold valid licences and qualifications to commercially drive Class C.
· All HGV’s are fitted with digital tachograph units and drivers must hold a valid tachograph card and have a good understanding of the EU Drivers’ Hours Regulations (561/2006) and Road Transport (Working Time) Regulations 2005.
· Must be fit and able to carry out duties in accordance with HGV medical requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Road Sweeper duties (left hand drive) around our sites in the midlands.
- Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues ensuring vehicles are free from obvious defects and fit for use, you will also be expected to perform some minor repairs and preventative maintenance tasks.
- Document and log work/rest periods and travel spent driving and retain fuel/toll receipts.
- Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures.
- Report all defects, accidents, or violations to the Transport Managers promptly.
- Cover will be required on HGV tippers and the tractor and bowser.
- Comply with Company expectations, always remaining professional.
- Your hours of work will be 50 hours per week, worked flexibly between the hours of 6.30 am and 5.30 pm Monday to Friday and may be varied to meet the needs of the Company. Your working times will be determined by the EU Drivers’ Hours Regulations (561/2006) and Road Transport (Working Time) Regulations 2005.
