Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Retail Sales Associate to join our dynamic team at Urban Outfitters Edinburgh. The ideal candidate will have a passion for customer service and a desire to help customers find the perfect products. As a Retail Sales Associate, you will play a crucial role in creating a welcoming shopping environment, assisting customers with their needs, and driving sales through effective communication and upselling techniques.
You must be 18+
Due to the nature of this role being freelance we can't accept student visas
You must have a valid national ID (passport)
Duties
- Greet customers warmly and provide assistance in locating products.
- Engage with customers to understand their needs and recommend suitable items.
- Demonstrate product features and benefits to enhance customer experience.
- Effectively upsell products to increase sales and meet store targets.
- Maintain an organised and visually appealing sales floor, ensuring products are well-stocked.
- Handle transactions accurately using basic maths skills for cash handling.
- Address customer inquiries and resolve any issues promptly.
- Uphold high standards of phone etiquette when interacting with customers via phone.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve store goals and maintain a positive work environment.
Skills
- Strong communication skills in English; proficiency in Spanish or other languages is advantageous (bilingual or multilingual).
- Ability to upsell products effectively while maintaining customer satisfaction.
- Excellent organisational skills to manage inventory and maintain store presentation.
- Basic maths skills for handling transactions accurately.
- A friendly demeanour with the ability to connect with diverse customers.
- Experience in retail or sales is desirable but not essential; a willingness to learn is key.
