Requirements
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Compassion, patience and resilience.
- Must Have a valid and full driving licence for manual transmission.
- Enhanced Disclosure and Barring service check (DBS).
- Hold (or willingness to work towards) a recognised NVQ 3 or QCF diploma in 'Working with Children and Young People in Residential Care', or equivalent qualification.
- Flexibility to work days and nights.
- A 'Can Do' attitude.
About the Role and You
We are looking for experienced and dedicated individuals with a 'can do' attitude, who have worked with complex children who have Learning Disabilities, additional needs and challenging behaviours, to join our team.
You will provide a safe, stimulating, fun and caring environment for our young person. Supporting them with all aspects of their care. You will be ready to make a difference in the life of a young person.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide support and care to young people in a residential setting, ensuring their safety and well-being.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with families and other professionals.
- Maintain effective communication with children, families, and team members to foster a supportive environment.
- Drive young person to appointments and activities as needed, adhering to safety regulations.
- Utilise IT skills for documentation and reporting purposes, ensuring accurate record-keeping.
- Demonstrate emotional resilience to respond to the challenging nature of the role.
- Participant in all mandatory training including safety intervention, medication administration and e-learning.
About The Service
- Newly renovated house located in the Kenton area of Newcastle.
- Plenty of space for activities; a play room, a sensory room (if required), as well as a staff office/room to complete necessary documentation.
- Reasonably sized garden and we encourage the staffing team to ensure the young person feels at home by decorating and engaging in activities with them.
