The ideal candidate will be committed to providing high-quality care and support to children and young people, ensuring their emotional and physical well-being in a safe and nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct care and support to children and young people in a residential care setting.
- Assist in the day-to-day running of the children's home, ensuring a safe and supportive environment.
- Promote positive behavior and create individual care plans that meet the needs of each child.
- Build positive and professional relationships with children, colleagues, and external agencies.
- Support children and young people in achieving their personal goals, promoting their independence and social development.
- Respond to challenging situations with a calm and proactive approach.
- Ensure accurate record-keeping and report any safeguarding concerns to the relevant authorities.
Requirements:
- Experience working with children or young people, preferably within a residential care setting.
- A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable children and young people.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work flexibly and as part of a team.
- NVQ Level 3 in Residential Childcare (or working towards it) is desirable but not essential.
- A valid DBS check will be required (we can assist with this process).
