Children’s Residential Support Worker

Pay: £12.56 – £15.13 per hour (inclusive of sleep-ins)

About the Role
We Are Care are proud to be recruiting on behalf of a respected Children’s Residential provider supporting young people with complex needs. We are looking for Residential Support Workers who are passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of children and young people who may not have had the best start in life.

What You’ll Do
As a Residential Support Worker, you will:
- Promote and safeguard the welfare of young people in line with the Children’s Homes Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards.
- Support children with their individual care plans, education, health, and daily living.
- Build trusting, supportive relationships that encourage development, independence, and resilience.
- Facilitate and participate in individual and group activities to promote social and emotional wellbeing.
- Assist with day-to-day household tasks such as budgeting, shopping, and preparing meals.
- Keep accurate case notes and reports, ensuring compliance with safeguarding and regulatory standards.
- Attend staff meetings, training, and supervision sessions to support your professional development.
What We’re Looking For
- Essential: Compassion, reliability, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Desirable:
- Level 3 Diploma in Children & Young People’s Residential Care (or equivalent).
- Experience supporting children or young people in a residential or care setting.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Strong communication, empathy, and problem-solving skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding, inclusion, and ongoing professional development.
- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain).
