Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Residential Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing care to children and young people in a Residential Setting. Our hours of work are on average 40 hours per week, working 2 shifts on/4 shifts off and to include “sleep-in” duties.
Pay starts at £12.45 per hour rising to £12.91 following successful probation period. £13.53 ph for qualified with NVQ level 3 or above. Sleep ins are paid at £60 per sleep in
Responsibilities
- To work as a member of the team to provide young people with a variety of activities, support, care and guidance using a positive parenting model
- To follow guidance from the Team Leader and other senior colleagues to ensure the smooth day to day running of the home providing structure and appropriate boundaries for the young people in our care
- To have a flexible approach to shift patterns which may sometimes require changes to rota at short notice
- To ensure that all risks are safely managed in line with the company policies and procedures
- To undertake an in-depth quality and bespoke training package
- To act as an advocate for the young person whilst using a positive parenting model
- To attend staff meetings and be proactive in developing and improving the service model
Experience
- Previous experience working with children is desirable, demonstrating an understanding of their individual needs and behaviours.
- Strong communication skills are necessary to effectively interact with children, families, and colleagues.
- Proficiency in IT applications will be beneficial for record keeping and reporting purposes.
