Cherish Children’s Care are looking to expand their team of Children's Practitioners for our home in Preston!
Cherish Children's Care provides residential children's homes across the northwest which specialise in providing support to children and young people with complex emotional and behavioural issues, . Our therapeutic homes provide our children and young people with a nurturing environment that supports them to be safe and cared for.
As a Residential Children's Practitioner you will be hands on in supporting our children and young people with their day to day life, supporting them to education, activities, preparing meals and maintaining appointments / health needs.
We are looking to recruit Residential Support Workers who are passionate about making a positive difference to the lives of children.
The ideal candidate
- Hold a Level 3 NVQ Children or equivalent (desirable)
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- To be self-motivated and task orientated.
- Can demonstrate confidence in liaising with Social Workers, Police, LADO and families.
- The desire and passion to safeguard, motivate, and inspire the young people in your care.
- The characteristics and personality to handle challenging behaviour effectively and professionally.
- Shift work including weekends, evenings & sleep in duties.
- Due to Ofsted regulations, you must be over 21 to be considered for this role
The key duties of the role are:
- To maintain a high quality of care and support which meets the physical, emotional, intellectual, social and cultural needs of children and young people within the care of the home.
- Assisting the promotion of good childcare practice in accordance with Cherish Children's Care's policies and procedures.
- To provide a caring, supportive, and nurturing environment.
- Establishing positive and rewarding relationships with the children/young people.
- Be responsible for reporting regularly on each young person’s daily events at the residential home.
- To maintain confidentiality and ensure safeguarding procedures are followed at all times.
Full training and ongoing development as well as high levels of support from both our in house and Head Office team.
