Contract Type: Permanent, Full-Time (36 hours minimum per week)

Salary:

• Unqualified : £13.25/hour (rising after 6-month probation)
• Qualified : £13.50/hour (rising after 6-month probation)
• Sleep-ins (optional) : £60 per night

About the Role

We’re partnering with a highly regarded children’s residential care provider to recruit Day Support Workers for their homes supporting young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD). These roles involve long-day shifts with optional sleep-ins, offering consistency, therapeutic support, and meaningful daily engagement.

Responsibilities

• Deliver child-centred, therapeutic care in a consistent and nurturing environment
• Build strong, trusting relationships with children and the team
• Facilitate routines, education, activities, and life skills support
• Maintain accurate and timely care documentation
• Promote safeguarding, dignity, and independence

Requirements

• Experience with children or young people in care, education, or support settings (preferred)
• Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or willingness to work toward it)
• Must commit to 36+ hours per week including long shifts and optional sleep-ins
• Driver preferred due to location
• Enhanced DBS required
• If needing sponsorship : 3 years UK work history required and 2-year minimum commitment

Shift Pattern

• Day Shifts Only: 7am–10pm / 8am–11pm
• Optional Sleep-ins: 10pm–7am / 11pm–8am (£60 per night)
• Rotas will vary and can be discussed based on availability and sustainability
