Guardian Protection Services Security Officer
Job Description
A valid SIA Security or Door Supervisor License is required for this role.
A driver's license is required for this role.
Successful applicants will have a DBS check conducted.
Initial interview will take place via a telephone conversation.
We are currently hiring for relief security officers to cover numerous contracts across the Leicestershire region when required. Being flexible and able to communicate effectively is crucial in this role. More information will be provided if you are asked to attend for an interview.
We are flexible to applicants working these part time shifts subject to first come first served on recruitment which we can explain on enquiry
Security Officers should be able to work autonomously and take responsibility of the site they are proving security for. They should ensure a high-quality output of work and ensure that processes are followed and instructions from the Supervisor are followed. Security Officers should liaise professionally with the Control Room team and Customers alike. It is essential that Security Officers ensure compliance to industry standards, company policies and procedures for their shift. All documentation and records are to be completed correctly.
Security Officers should:
- Understand the basics of (or know where to access) standards, policies and procedures, as well as instructions for a Customer premises
- Understand escalation procedures and departmental functions around the business
- Follow direction from their Supervisor or Line Manager
- Provide reports as required
- Ensure they display a valid SIA license and Company ID Card at all times
- Ensure their uniform is smart presentable at all times
General Tasks
- Conduct patrols professionally and within the required timescale to include locking/unlocking the premises
- Liaise with the Police, Fire Service and other agencies in an emergency and on all issues affecting security, surrounding customer premises (or escalate via a Supervisor or the Control Room team)
- Assist controllers during incidents by advising the controller of appropriate action to be taken and supporting colleagues where necessary
- Deal with emails and respond to ad-hoc requests
- Complete daily tasks – duty sheet, incident reports, conduct handovers and communications and all required paperwork to a high standard
- Access Control
- Depending on the site, monitor CCTV

Due to the nature of the role there may be some last minute changes to the established pattern so flexibility will be key. Shifts may comprise Days, Evenings, Nights, Weekends, Bank Holidays and Public Holidays.
