Relief Handyperson

CrossReach
Scotland

Are you the kind of person who enjoys fixing things, solving little problems before they become big ones, and taking pride in a job well done? If so, we’d love to welcome you as our new Handyperson.

This is a varied and practical role where you’ll be keeping our care service safe, comfortable and running smoothly. From minor repairs to helping move furniture, you’ll be the friendly face people rely on when something needs doing.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Carrying out day-to-day repairs and small maintenance tasks
  • Reporting issues that need attention from tradespeople
  • Keeping simple maintenance records
  • Supporting health and safety checks
  • Assisting with moving furniture or equipment (safely, of course!)
  • Working closely with the manager and wider team to ensure everything’s in working order

What you’ll need:

  • A hands-on approach and confidence with tools
  • Basic computer skills for things like e-learning or record keeping
  • Experience in maintenance, trades or DIY (helpful but not essential)
  • A flexible attitude no two days are the same!
  • Respect for the Christian ethos we work within
  • Willingness to undergo a PVG check (we’ll guide you through this)

Whether you’ve worked in maintenance before or you’re just naturally practical, this could be a brilliant opportunity to use your skills in a role that truly matters.
