Steps Ahead Care & Support, established in 2009 are rated OUTSTANDING by CQC and are specialists in acquired brain injury, spinal injuries, learning disabilities and challenging behaviour. We offer bespoke packages to clients in their own homes and our support team help build our ethos by promoting client’s independence and offering them community-based and or rehabilitation support.
We are looking to recruit passionate & enthusiastic support workers to join Team Steps and become part of what we believe to be, something incredibly rewarding and person centred.
This role is based in Darlingtonand surrounding areas and a variety of hours are available on a full time and part time basis, FULL client specific training will be provided to all support workers as this is a complex care package.
The client is a young woman with an acquired brain injury who requires 24/7 support. This client enjoys socialising, going on nights out and meeting new people. The client does display with signs of behaviours that challenge, and this mainly presents in the form of verbal aggression.
We are looking to build a team for the client who are passionate, outgoing, confident individuals who will be able to work with the client to encourage her to engage in her rehab programmes and therapies to increase her independence.
Please note: this client prefers female staff.

Hours Available:
We are recruiting specifically for this package, and the client receives 24/7 support made up of long days and waking nights, with 2:1 support on a Friday night for socialising.
We currently have 7 x long days and 8 x waking nights available on this package. Please note: for any candidate, there will be an expectation of some level of weekend work.
Responsibilities will include:
· Arranging & support to attend appointments
. Working with the MDT to engage the client in her rehab programmes and therapies
. Use of PBS techniques to manage the clients behaviours and incidents
· Medication Support
· Support accessing the community
Requirements for the position:
The chosen individuals will be enthusiastic, reliable and self - motivated. Six months health and social care experience is preferable, however, transferrable skills and personal experience will be considered.
