Porthaven Care Homes are seeking a skilled and motivated Regional Maintenance person to join our Estates Team. Reporting to the Regional Works Manager, you'll play a key role in delivering high-quality decorative, maintenance, and improvement works across our award-winning care homes. Your work will directly contribute to ensuring our residents live in safe, well-maintained, and attractive environment.
This role is based across our homes in the Buckinghamshire region therefore travel and overnight stays is essential. You will receive a company van for this travel.
Key Duties:
- Undertake decoration, defect rectification, and improvement works within our homes.
- Plan and execute projects in coordination with Estates, Regional Directors, and Home Managers.
- Liaise with contractors, suppliers, and tradespeople.
- Procure necessary tools, materials, and equipment.
- Prepare Risk Assessments, Method Statements, and Work Plans.
- Conduct regular inspections and produce detailed reports.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant health & safety legislation.
- Support with reactive maintenance tasks, including basic carpentry, plumbing, electrical repairs, and decorating.
- Provide cover for Maintenance Managers in our care homes during absences.
- Respond to occasional emergency or out-of-hours call-outs.
About You:
- You will have proven experience in maintenance, decoration, or similar trades such as plumbing, electrical works, basic carpentry and general repairs.
- You will have strong knowledge of Health and Safety policies and procedures.
- You will have excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- You will be comfortable working independently and managing multiple priorities.
- You will have a full clean UK driving licence.
- You will have excellent IT literacy for reporting and planning.
- You will have flexibility to travel across multiple locations and work occasional unsociable hours.
