Southend City Council are looking to appoint a full time, permanent Highways Enforcement Officer.
As the Highway Enforcement Officer, you will support the Highway and Coastal management team in ensuring the delivery of a highway’s enforcement service, ensuring compliance with the statutory provisions set out within legislation, such as the Highways Act 1980, Traffic Management Act 2004 and The Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014.
Key responsibilities include engaging and advising residents, as well as businesses within the city and following up with notices and fixed penalty notices where compliance has not been achieved through informal enforcement methods. This will include areas such as damage to the highway, vehicles illegally crossing the highway, obstructions, unlicensed materials or structures etc.
